About the author

Nathaniel Weathers III

Nathaniel Weathers was born on 24 September 1978, in South Carolina and raised between the streets of downtown Charlotte, North Carolina, and Orlando, Florida. He attended Sumter High School and graduated from Continental Academy before pursuing higher education at Central Piedmont College and Film Connection, where he focused on writing and directing. His passion for storytelling was ignited during this time, particularly after working as an extra in Cabin Fever 2. That experience opened his eyes to the creative possibilities of filmmaking and marked the beginning of his journey into the world of storytelling.

As both a writer and filmmaker, Nathaniel is known for his compelling exploration of human emotions, faith, and resilience. His body of work—including novels and films—is deeply personal, often drawing from his own life experiences and core values. His narratives frequently explore themes of personal growth, inner strength, and spiritual transformation, reflecting the challenges he has faced and the faith that continues to guide him.

Now, at 46, Nathaniel believes his creative journey is just getting started. With numerous projects on the horizon, he remains committed to telling stories that resonate on a deeply human level—stories that challenge, heal, and inspire.

He draws inspiration from several influential figures in his life. His father, Bishop Nathaniel Weathers Jr., instilled in him a strong foundation of faith and leadership. He’s also creatively influenced by the lyrical storytelling of rapper Nas, whose music mirrors Nathaniel’s own approach to layered, emotional narratives. The relentless work ethic and legacy of basketball legend Kobe Bryant serve as a constant motivator, while the wisdom of Michelle Andrea Mathlin has left a lasting personal impact. Additionally, the artistry of Sidney Poitier—particularly his performance in In the Heat of the Night—deeply shaped Nathaniel’s understanding of strength, emotion, and presence in storytelling.

In his personal life, Nathaniel is rooted in faith and family. After 14 years of marriage, he is a proud father of three children. His spiritual upbringing continues to be a driving force in his life, guiding his values of selflessness, compassion, and integrity. Even in the face of personal hardships, he has found new beginnings—embracing a chapter filled with growth, happiness, and creative renewal. Nathaniel Weathers’ life and work are a testament to perseverance, purpose, and passion. As he continues forward, he remains devoted to creating meaningful stories that reflect the complexity of life and the transformative power of faith.

“Ticket” celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and commitment. The story continues to captivate readers with its profound themes of betrayal, lust, and redemption.
